This project was in a new subdivision located in Naperville, IL near the Wolfs Crossing Community Park. The customer called because their roof was leaking and they wanted a repair. We dispatched a roof tech to repair the leak and upon inspection of the asphalt shingles the roof tech noticed storm damage. He notified the homeowner that we could get the insurance company to pay for everything with no out of pocket expensive to them other than their deductible. We signed a representation agreement and called in the claim. Our tech met with the insurance adjuster and assisted with the total scope of loss. The insurance company came with an offer that was not going to cover the total cost of a full roof replacement. Because of our knowledge and years of experience we pointed out things that were missing. We submitted a revised scope of loss that was accurate and the insurance company agreed to pay for the full roof replacement.
We did a complete tear off of the old asphalt shingles down to the wood deck. We inspected the deck but found it was in great condition. The installation began with 6 feet of ice and water shield being installed at all the eves and 3 feet in the valleys . The next step was to install the synthetic felt and the starter shingles. The pipe flashings and the ventilation were installed. Then, the asphalt shingles were installed with 6 nails per shingle giving the customer the best wind warranty of 150 mph. Lastly, the hip and ridge shingles were installed and the property was cleaned of all debris and hauled away.
