Commercial Flat Roof using TPO in Aurora, IL

When it comes to commercial flat roofs, there are a variety of materials and systems available to choose from. One of the most popular and effective options is TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) roofing. At Rhino Roofing, we have extensive experience installing TPO roofs on a variety of commercial buildings, and we're excited to share one of our recent projects with you.

The project in question was a large commercial building with a flat roof that had reached the end of its lifespan. The building owner wanted a durable and energy-efficient roof that could withstand the harsh weather conditions of the area, as well as meet the strict energy codes. After evaluating the building's needs and discussing the options with the owner, we recommended a TPO roofing system.

TPO is a type of thermoplastic roofing that is made from a synthetic rubber compound. It's known for its durability, energy efficiency, and resistance to punctures, tears, and UV rays. It's also lightweight, easy to install, and highly reflective, which helps to keep the building cool and reduce energy costs.

We began the project by removing the old roofing material and making any necessary repairs to the decking and insulation. We then installed a new TPO membrane using a fully-adhered system. This method involves attaching the TPO directly to the decking with a special adhesive, which creates a seamless and waterproof barrier. We also installed new TPO flashings and penetration details, which are critical for maintaining the integrity of the roof and preventing leaks.

The TPO membrane is available in different thickness, and is fully customizable to the area, which we discussed with the building owner and determined the thickness that would work best.

One of the key features of TPO roofs is their high reflectivity, which we took advantage of by applying a special reflective coating on top of the membrane. This added an additional layer of protection and helped to further reduce energy costs.

The project was completed in a timely manner, with minimal disruptions to the building occupants and the surrounding area. The roof looks great and is performing exceptionally well. The building owner is thrilled with the results, and we're confident that the TPO roof will provide many years of reliable service.

If you're in the market for a new commercial flat roof, we highly recommend TPO as a option. It's a versatile and cost-effective solution that can meet the needs of most any building. Plus, Rhino Roofing has years of experience with TPO roofs and will provide you with a quality job.
